Karol Sevilla says goodbye to “Soy Luna”: “I was a girl and a role model for many girls. It was a backpack of responsibility”

“Soy Luna Tour, The Last Show” will not only be the farewell to a series that marked an entire generation. For Karol Sevilla it will also mean closing the door on a character that accompanied her for a decade, made her grow in front of millions of viewers, and ended up inevitably mixing with her own story. Luna says goodbye on skates; Karol, on the other hand, keeps moving forward. And her dreams now aim further: she wants to conquer music, cinema, and one day hold a Grammy and an Oscar in her hands.

This time, she assures, the farewell seems definitive, although the story has already taught her not to trust that word too much.

“Yes, the truth is yes. Sometimes I say it’s the end and it’s not, but this time it is”, she admits with a smile. “I have many things for my future and my career, but now we are focused on being able to say goodbye properly and, above all, to say goodbye to this character who gave me so much.”

Final Lap

“Soy Luna Tour: The Last Show” will reunite part of the original cast again and will have a stop on November 20, 2026, at Arena 1 Park, on the Costa Verde of San Miguel. Alongside Sevilla will be Michael Ronda, Ruggero Pasquarelli, Malena Ratner, and Gastón Vietto.

The reunion also happens at a special moment for the franchise. In July, “Soy Luna: Back to Roll,” the fourth season of the production, premiered on Disney+, which recovered a story that seemed to have ended years ago and once again placed its protagonists in front of an audience that also grew up with them.

“I grew up at the same time as Luna. We both arrived at 15 and lived through similar situations: arriving in a new country, studying at a new school. I feel like we grew up together”, she says.

A decade later, playing her again meant reconnecting with that teenager from the woman she became.

“Playing her again was reconnecting with her essence, which actually never left: that playful, dreamy, and enthusiastic girl facing every challenge. But this time, the adult Karol was also there,” she explains. “When Luna had to face more mature problems, I put a bit of myself there. Although, honestly, I’m still very Luna,” she admits.

Growing Up Fast

“Soy Luna” gave her international fame when she was just beginning to discover who she wanted to be. The recordings, tours, full stages arrived, as well as a huge responsibility for a 16-year-old teenager.

“I was a child, I was growing and learning. At the same time, I was the role model for many girls my age. We grew up together. It was a backpack of responsibility that very few people can carry without straying,” she admits.

Over the years, that experience took on another meaning. At 26, Karol prefers to look back without punishing herself for her mistakes and to accept them as part of her growth.

“This time I don’t want to lose my footing. I want to enjoy and be grateful for this new opportunity to travel the world with a project and a character that gave me so much. Learn from mistakes, from successes, and if I make mistakes again, learn again,” she points out.

Reconnecting

There was a moment when Karol Sevilla felt the need to reconnect with the stage and with the love for her craft. Part of that process happened in Peru.

Her participation in El Circo de la Chola Chabuca (2023), alongside Ernesto Pimentel, brought her back to a world she knew since childhood, but this time she could experience it from within.

If I already admired circus artists, today I admire them much more. I was able to get close to their daily life, the constant shows, and all the work behind it. It’s enormous, but there is also a beautiful team, a family, she says.

Conversations with Pimentel also came at a key moment in her life.

“He arrived when I needed to reconnect with myself and recover the love for my art, for singing and going on stage. Ernesto was a very important turning point. I take many of his advice and wonderful memories. Every time I can return to Peru, I take a trip because I love it,” she admits.

Own Identity

Today she says she is clearer about who she is and the woman she wants to be.

“Today I know better who I am and I feel happy to have found a version of myself with which I feel fully comfortable”.

Intact Dreams

There is something, however, that remains intact over the years. From a very young age, Karol Sevilla spoke of two big dreams: winning a Grammy for her music and an Oscar as an actress. Far from fading, those goals today have a more concrete direction for her.

“One hundred percent. They are still my goals and my dreams, only now they have become much bigger. I am clearer about my path, I know where I want to go and what my objective is. My music is coming. I am preparing my own style, my own sound, and my own lyrics,” she concludes.
