We are a little over two months away from the release of “Grand Theft Auto VI”, but details of the highly anticipated video game continue to be taken with extreme interest, especially since the release of an extended trailer a few weeks ago. One of the revelations from this video is related to the use of weapons in the virtual world, which has taken on a more realistic touch.
Thus, now the characters within the game will react if you have a pistol drawn or if you carry an assault rifle in the middle of the street, something that did not happen in previous installments of the saga where they only panicked if you pointed the weapon directly at them.
The goal, according to Rob Nelson, co-director of Rockstar North, in an interview with the YouTube channel TGG, is to increase the level of realism in the game.
“We don’t think that already works with this resolution and the level of realism in behavior that we now need from our population,” said the developer. “In GTA 5, you can pull out a shotgun out of nowhere in front of people and they don’t react. That doesn’t work here.”

This philosophy also translates into a limit on the weapons you can carry and the character will not be able to have an almost unlimited arsenal like previous games in the franchise, but will have to carry them on their person, an approach we have already seen before in studio games like “Red Dead Redemption 2” and “Max Payne 3”.
“You can always carry two hidden pistols whenever you want,” he said. “You can carry two long guns and they will be visible on your back and in your hand. You can’t put both on your back. One goes in your opposite hand [and] the other on your back if you want to carry two. People will notice you if you walk around like that.”
Added to this are other systems to make police behavior more sophisticated, such as the fact that depending on the circumstances and precautions under which you committed a crime, law enforcement may have a full or partial description of your character to help them in their search.
