T’aqrachullo: Why did this gigantic completo remain off the radar for so long?
Ceremonial Citadel | Recent research on T’aqrachullo, in Espinar, Cusco, reinforced the hypothesis that the site corresponds to the ancient Ancocagua, a ceremonial citadel mentioned in colonial chronicles. While specialists highlight its value for understanding the last years of the Tahuantinsuyo and the cultural continuity of pre-Inca societies, the project also questions how to promote tourism, infrastructure, and economic development without repeating the conservation problems that Machu Picchu faces today.
