Senamhi Weather Forecast:

According to the National Meteorology and Hydrology Service of Peru (Senamhi), East Lima will have a maximum temperature of 23°C and a minimum of 17ºC, the day will start with an overcast sky between cloudy in the morning varying to partly cloudy in the afternoon.

The forecast for West Lima will present a maximum temperature of 23°C and a minimum of 19°C. An overcast sky is expected between cloudy in the morning varying to cloudy in the afternoon.

In coastal districts and areas near Callao, it is more likely to observe an environment with greater cloud cover, especially during the morning and night. These conditions are typical of Lima’s winter, when humidity and ocean cooling favor the formation of fog and low clouds. Additionally, specialists from Senamhi have indicated that this year winter could present more days alternating between clouds and sun due to the influence of a slightly warmer than usual sea.

Pleasant temperatures despite the advance of winter

Although winter will officially begin on June 21, temperatures in Lima still remain relatively moderate for this time of year. Climate records show that during June the capital usually experiences highs close to 21 °C or 22 °C, with cooler nights and high ambient humidity.

Senamhi recommends that the population dress in layers, especially during the early hours of the day and at night, when the thermal sensation can be lower due to humidity. Likewise, the chances of rain remain low, although light drizzles are not ruled out in some sectors near the coast.
