A minor’s DNI (National Identity Document) contains essential information for their identification and for carrying out various procedures throughout their life. Therefore, any data that presents an error or needs to be updated can generate doubts among parents or guardians. With the advancement of digital services, more and more procedures can be initiated or managed online. This has led many families to wonder if modifications related to the identity document can also be done virtually. The situation may vary depending on the type of information to be corrected and the conditions established for each procedure. Furthermore, it is important to know what options the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec) currently offers. Before going to an office or starting a procedure, it is advisable to review the requirements and available alternatives. In the following lines, we explain what Reniec establishes and how this type of request can be managed.
Can data on a minor’s DNI be rectified via the web? Reniec responds
No, it is not possible. This procedure is done only in person because minors constantly change their physical appearance, and therefore it is necessary to validate their identity at a Reniec office. These are the requirements:
● Payment of 16.00 with code 00647 until December 31, 2026. You can pay at: New payment channel: Yape – BCP Agent
Generate your ticket at https://recaudacion.reniec.gob.pe/recaudacionTasas/, select the corresponding code. Then enter the Yape > Yapear servicios > Reniec application and enter your ticket number. You can also go with that ticket and pay at the nearest BCP agent
Banco de la Nación – Branch, agent or Pagalo.pe
Enter pagalo.pe, or go to the nearest Banco de la Nación branch or agent and make the payment with the corresponding code.
