More than 800 thousand elderly adults are waiting to learn the future of a subsidy that represents significant support for their households. During her first message to the Nation for National Holidays, last July 28, Keiko Fujimori announced that her Government would seek to double the amount delivered by the Pension 65 program. The proposal aims to raise the economic support from S/350 to S/700 every two months for elderly adults in vulnerable situations. If realized, the change would mean a significant increase for those who depend on this social benefit.

While the proposal remains under evaluation, the next payment will continue to be made under the current conditions of the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis) program. According to the entity, from August 3 more than 824 thousand elderly adults will be able to access the S/350 subsidy nationwide. For them, each payment date represents an opportunity to face essential expenses and alleviate economic difficulties. The expectation is now set on a possible modification of the pension amount. Until that decision is made, beneficiaries should consider that the current payment remains S/350 every two months.

There, elderly adults and their families can review the affiliation requirements and resolve doubts related to the subsidy. The information is available in Spanish, Quechua, and Aymara, with the purpose of facilitating its consultation. Among the main conditions are the following:
- Be 65 years old or older.
- Have a National Identity Document (DNI).
- Be classified in extreme poverty, according to the Socioeconomic Classification (CSE) granted by the Social Targeting and Information Agency (OFIS). The classification can be consulted through the corresponding link.
- Not receive a pension or subsidies from EsSalud.
- Submit a sworn statement with personal data and the DNI number.

The uncertainty about whether the name appears among the Pension 65 beneficiaries can be resolved from home, with just a few minutes in front of a cell phone or computer. To facilitate this consultation, the program has the Yachaq application, available for Android devices and also through a web platform. The tool allows you to easily verify if you are entitled to receive the economic subsidy. Thus, elderly adults and their families can consult the information without having to travel. The process seeks to make benefit tracking more accessible.
To make the inquiry, you must first enter the “Infórmate aquí” option within the platform. Then, enter the corresponding elderly adult’s DNI number. The system will then request entering the four-digit code that appears on the screen. Once these data are completed, you must select the “Buscar” button. At that moment, the platform will show information related to the beneficiary’s status.
