Dollar opens lower at S/3.35 amid global index decline

The dollar in Peru started the day down at S/3.355, compared to the previous close of S/3.363, in line with the 0.14% decline of the global dollar index (DXY), which is around 99.23 points. The movement comes after the release of new economic data in the United States, showing signs of a slowdown in the labor market.

Huayta also stated that, internationally, the market will remain attentive to the stance of the Federal Reserve, after John C. Williams, president of the New York Fed, indicated that a rate hike this month is not yet defined, although price stability continues to be a priority.
