The artificial intelligence (AI) platforms ChatGPT (developed by OpenAI), Gemini (Google), Claude (Anthropic), and Grok (SpaceXAI) are experiencing a global outage this Thursday, according to the specialized portal DownDetector.
According to this platform, which monitors this type of incident, thousands of users have reported service interruptions of the chatbots in more than 70 countries.
The platform with the most affected users was ChatGPT, as, according to DownDetector, nearly 38 thousand users in the United States reported problems at 11:00 local time (15:00 GMT).
Data from this same website indicates that 80% of the reported problems are directly related to the chatbot, while 8% correspond to failures in OpenAI’s AI assistant specialized in code, Codex, and 7% in the application.
Meanwhile, OpenAI’s official system status page shows a notice indicating that it is currently “experiencing issues” and that there are “severe errors in ChatGPT and Codex.”
“We have applied corrective measures and are monitoring recovery,” the website message notes.

Meanwhile, Claude’s system status page indicates: “elevated errors in several models.”
“A fix has been implemented for Claude Mythos 5.1, Claude Fable 5.1, and Claude Opus 5, and we are monitoring their recovery. The only models currently affected are Opus 4.8 and Opus 5,” the message notes.
Regarding this website, according to DownDetector, the peak of incidents occurred at 10:56 local time, when 1,417 users reported problems in the United States.
As for Grok, the biggest problems occurred at 9:45, with 1,400 reports on DownDetector.
Finally, Gemini recorded its peak of incidents at 11:03 local time, with 435 notifications, according to the specialized portal.
