Until recently, job success was associated with mastery of technical programs or digital tools. However, the trend has shifted towards a more comprehensive approach.

Today, companies take into account social and emotional skills as a differentiating element. For Leyla Begazo, Talent Management Manager at Konecta Peru, this new scenario represents an extraordinary opportunity for young talent in the country.

“AI should take care of the most routine mechanical processes, allowing us to enhance what makes us unique as human beings. In today’s market, a young person’s competitive advantage lies in their ability to interpret information, connect with people, and solve complex situations creatively,” explains the specialist.

In this scenario, the expert identifies the four competencies that today define success in the jobs where young people already operate daily alongside AI:

  • Strategic prompting. The ability to guide technology is the most valuable skill today. Companies seek young people capable of formulating precise, logical, and structured instructions to interact with AI. This skill allows a professional to understand the background of processes and achieve systems that deliver optimal business solutions in real time.
  • Operational copilotage. Another differentiator is the ability to delegate heavy tasks to digital assistants, such as call summaries, transcriptions, and history searches. Companies look for talents who know how to structure efficient workflows alongside algorithms, using the freed-up time to focus on case resolution and response quality.
  • Contextual empathy. Technology processes data and text but lacks the sensitivity to decipher the user’s real frustration or urgency. The value of new generations lies in their ability to interpret the context of an AI-assisted interaction, calibrate the tone of the response, and provide that human and empathetic touch that secures customer loyalty in hyperconnected environments.
  • Predictive analysis. The current profile stands out for its skill in interpreting predictive analytics dashboards generated by AI in real time. Beyond seeing a screen with data, organizations value the young person who has the judgment to validate system suggestions and make agile decisions that immediately solve the customer’s request, eliminating unnecessary waits.

Begazo points out that “skills development must be as dynamic as the technology itself.” In this regard, she states that organizations must bet on continuous learning ecosystems in the cloud. That is, spaces where “young people enhance their leadership, empathy, and problem-solving through internal training platforms to face the challenges of the agentic era.”
