PSG decided to secure Luis Enrique and confirmed the renewal of the Spanish coach until the end of the 2030 season, extending a relationship that began three years ago and has transformed the Parisian team. The agreement, negotiated for several months, ratifies the club’s confidence in the Asturian coach despite the irregular start to the Ligue 1 season.

PSG’s bet is mainly explained by the results obtained under his direction. Luis Enrique became the most decorated coach in the history of the institution, with 13 titles won, including three Ligue 1 titles, two French Cups, and especially the club’s first two Champions League titles.
The renewal, however, came amid an unexpectedly difficult start for the French champion. Just hours after the announcement, PSG fell 2-1 to Monaco at the Parc des Princes, a result that extended their poor start in the tournament. The team still has no wins and only records two draws and one loss.

How much will Luis Enrique earn?
The new contract will also mean a significant financial improvement for Luis Enrique. According to L’Équipe, the coach will start earning around 20 million euros gross per season, compared to the approximately 12 million he was receiving until now. In this way, his salary will increase by about eight million euros annually, placing him among the highest-paid coaches in world football.
President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi considers Luis Enrique “the best coach in the world,” a sign of the weight the coach has gained in the Parisian project. With his renewal until 2030, the club seeks to give continuity to a stage that has already changed its history and now aims to keep PSG at the European elite.
