Teletón 2026 LIVE: everything about the start, the goal, and ways to donate

The countdown for the Teletón 2026 has already begun and this time the call to collaborate also came from one of the main stages of the Peruvian financial sector. On September 2, the Lima Stock Exchange (BVL) held the traditional “Campanazo” as a prelude to the solidarity event that will take place over two days. The activity brought together authorities, business representatives, and figures linked to the campaign, who called for joint efforts to achieve the goal set by Fundación Teletón Perú. For this edition, the organization set a target of 9,168,510 soles, just one sol above what was achieved in the previous campaign. The event also served to once again put on the agenda the work that the institution has been carrying out for more than four decades in favor of girls and boys who require rehabilitation.

THE BVL RANG THE BELL BEFORE THE SOLIDARITY EVENT

The ceremony held at the BVL aimed to involve the business and financial sector in the stage prior to the national campaign. The event was attended by Luis Galarreta, President of the Council of Ministers; Elmer Cuba, Minister of Economy and Finance; and Mara Seminario Marón, Minister of Women and Vulnerable Populations. Alongside them were authorities from the stock market and representatives of business organizations.

Among the attendees were Rafael Carranza, Chairman of the BVL Board, and Sergio León, CEO of Fundación Teletón Perú. Representatives from the private sector and the National Confederation of Private Business Institutions (Confiep) also participated. The traditional bell ringing was led by actor Ismael La Rosa, who accompanied the symbolic start of the final stretch of the campaign.

FUNDACIÓN TELETON HIGHLIGHTS ITS RESULTS AND ANNOUNCES NEW CENTERS

During the event, Fundación Teletón Perú presented part of the work carried out over its more than 40 years of presence in the country. Sergio León emphasized that the organization arrives at this new campaign with results that, he explained, reflect the care provided to minors who need rehabilitation processes.

“We arrive at this final stage with concrete results to show the country. After more than 40 years, we continue growing and making it possible for more girls and boys to access rehabilitation processes fully subsidized by Teletón,” León stated.

As part of its upcoming objectives, the foundation reported that it is preparing to put new specialized care centers into operation. The future facilities will be located in Lima and Arequipa, with the aim of expanding the coverage of services directed at girls and boys who require this type of care.
