The Executive launched new economic support for the education sector. Through a provision published in the official gazette El Peruano, the granting of S/ 487 was confirmed for thousands of teachers and assistants who provide services in state institutions. The payment will be made once during the 2026 fiscal year and is part of the additional resources approved by the State to ensure the functioning of public services. The measure covers different labor regimes and seeks to recognize the work of personnel who carry out activities in schools throughout the country, provided they meet the criteria set by the current norm.

Workers who will be included in the benefit
The allocation will include teachers and assistants belonging to various legal frameworks of the education sector, both with permanent positions and under contract. The provision also incorporates those who teach in basic and technical-productive education centers administered by regional governments and the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima.
In this way, the scope of the incentive is not limited to the Ministry of Education, but also covers other public entities that have educational institutions under their administration.
Conditions for receiving the S/ 487
Access to the extraordinary amount will be subject to compliance with certain administrative requirements. These include having a valid employment relationship when the disbursement is made and having registered information in the Computer Application for the Centralized Registry of Payrolls and Human Resources Data of the Public Sector (AIRHSP) at the end of 2024, in addition to maintaining that condition when Law N.° 32732 came into force.

The norm also considers vacation periods and paid leave as effectively worked time, so those who were in these situations will not lose the right to the incentive. Likewise, it was established that each worker may only receive this payment once, even if they have more than one link with public entities.
Millionaire investment to make the payment effective
To cover this measure, the Government authorized an allocation exceeding S/ 211.8 million, resources that will be distributed among the Ministry of Education, regional governments, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of the Interior, as appropriate. This funding will guarantee the delivery of extraordinary economic support to education sector workers included in the provision approved for 2026.
