According to the entity, this seismic movement had a depth of 42 kilometers. So far, no material damage or casualties have been reported.

In light of the increase in news related to alleged earthquakes, the IGP reminded that earthquakes cannot be predicted and asked the population to get information only through official channels, as well as to maintain preventive measures because the country is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire, a zone of high seismic activity.
For this reason, in the event of a seismic movement, authorities recommend staying calm, locating yourself in safe areas, staying away from windows or objects that may fall, and avoiding the use of elevators.
