The Peruvian national team will face the 2026 South American Volleyball Championship in September, a key competition that grants tickets to the World Cup and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. The team led by coach Antonio Rizola will seek to arrive in the best conditions at a tournament that will bring together the main teams of the continent.
The championship will be held from September 8 to 13 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, under a round-robin format. Peru will count on some of its main players, after Miriam Patiño, Claudia Palza, Aixa Vigil, Thaisa McLeod, and Lucía Magallanes overcame their respective injuries and became available for the tournament.
The South American Championship will also have an important reward for the participating teams. The champion will obtain direct qualification to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, while the top three teams will secure their ticket to the 2027 Volleyball World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States and Canada.
