Juan Reabza composed “Soy provinciano,” the anthem that Chacalón immortalized. He also played alongside Óscar Avilés and Zambo Cavero, and laid down bass lines in fundamental songs of Peruvian music. At 72 years old, Juan Rebaza continues recording without seeking the spotlight. Next week we will see him at a jazz gig.
