FIL Lima 2026: guests, honorees, tickets, new venue and everything you need to know

After 15 years in Próceres park, FIL Lima is now located in Surco, at the Jockey Exhibition Center. A move that implies a new strategy to attract an audience reluctant to change. More organized and in an ideal space, the renovated fair hopes to win back readers.

This is everything you need to know if you are going to the Lima International Book Fair in its 2026 edition:

• 76 publishers

Furthermore, within the framework of this anniversary, FIL Lima 2026 will feature Ecuador as the Guest Country of Honor.

• Ticket prices

Admission will cost S/7.50 from Monday to Thursday, and S/10 on weekends and holidays. Students and teachers pay half. Free for children under 5 and over 65. If you are a subscriber to “El Comercio”, you can access a 20% discount on the price of your tickets.

• Free tickets

This year, children under 6, people over 65, and people registered with Conadis will be able to access FIL Lima for free. But also all visitors who enter on July 22, between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., provided there is capacity availability and they have a ticket previously downloaded via Teleticket or redeemed at the box office.

• Free entry for Surco residents

Residents of the district of Santiago de Surco will be able to enter for free from Monday to Thursday thanks to an agreement signed between the Peruvian Book Chamber and the district municipality.

• 550 hours of activities

Among them, 116 aimed at children, in addition to 16 artistic shows.

• 600 cultural activities

They will be part of this thirtieth edition. There are more than 65 international guests and an Ecuadorian delegation of 30 representatives.

• Poetry at the BBVA Foundation

Reading and playing with the poetry and image of the poet Blanca Varela, whose birth centenary we commemorate, is the proposal of the BBVA Foundation stand. As Nelson Alvarado, Manager of the BBVA Foundation in Peru, explains, a digital experience will allow readers to immerse themselves in the iconic images of the author of “Ese puerto existe”. • Seven thousand covers of El Comercio!

That was the number of readers who took home the front page of El Comercio from the day of their birth in 2025. • Accessibility

During the fair, there will be free shuttle buses with a frequency of 10 minutes. They will depart from Parque de la Amistad, in Surco, and from the Jockey Plaza parking lot.

• El Dominical present

Our space for the exchange of ideas in front of the public remains at FIL Lima with a new format. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the Fair, always at 6 p.m. in the Ecuador auditorium, the guest country, El Dominical will interview authors and experts in contemporary literature, sports, economics, cinema, and cultural journalism. El Café Dominical is served hot.

Country: Argentina

Agenda: her books explore human cruelty through disturbing dystopias. She presents her book “Diecinueve garras y un pájaro oscuro” (PRH) at FIL on July 31 at 6:30 p.m.

• Alberto Fuguet

Country: Chile

Agenda: a master of portraying urban youth, pop culture, and marginality with cinematic realism. He presents his book “Ushuaia” (Tusquets) at FIL on August 2 at 4 p.m.

• Nona Fernández

Country: Chile

Agenda: literary inquiry into historical trauma, collective memory, and the archives of the dictatorial past through a detective and spectral narrative. She presents her book “Marciano” (PRH) at FIL on August 1 at 6 p.m.

Country: Argentina

Agenda: narrator of everyday epic that links football, historical memory, and human bonds with simple and emotional prose. He presents his book “Qué quedará de nosotros” (PRH) at FIL on July 29 at 5 p.m.

• Tamara Silva

Country: Uruguay

Agenda: new voice in Uruguayan narrative that explores introspection, young identity, and personal quests with freshness and vitality. She presents her book “Larvas” (Páginas de Espuma) at FIL on July 31 at 7 p.m.

• Fernanda Trías

Country: Uruguay

Agenda: writer of oppressive atmospheres where illness, confinement, and the fragility of the body reveal a profound and lucid existential anguish. She presents her book “Miembro fantasma” (Páginas de Espuma) at FIL on July 25 at 4 p.m.

• Javier Peña

Country: Spain

Agenda: writer and podcaster who explores human fragility, grief, and the complexity of relationships through intimate literary prose. He presents his book “Tinta invisible” (Blackie Books) at FIL on August 5 at 8 p.m.

• Alejandra Costamagna

Country: Chile

Agenda: master of ellipsis and detail who delves into family rifts, the silences of the past, and Chilean political memory. She presents her book “Dónde puedo dejarlo” (Anagrama) at FIL on July 23 at 3 p.m.

• David Toscana

Country: Mexico

Agenda: creator of fictions where absurdity, black humor, and metafiction constantly dialogue. He presents his book El ejército ciego (Alfaguara Novel Prize 2026) at FIL on July 26 at 5 p.m.

• Margarita García Robayo

Country: Colombia

Agenda: incisive author who dissects personal relationships, detachment, and social discomfort with acidic and raw irony. She presents her book “Primera persona” (Anagrama) at FIL on July 25 at 8 p.m.

• The world without Alfredo Bryce

Following his recent passing, FIL Lima will dedicate a tribute to the author of “Huerto cerrado” on Tuesday, July 28, at 8 p.m. It includes the presentation of his “Cuentos completos” (Peisa) and criolla music by performer Carlos Ardiles.

• The centenary of Blanca Varela

In addition to re-editions and biographies, on Tuesday, August 5, at 8 p.m., the book fair will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the author of “Canto villano”. The activity will feature a musical performance by Marty Torres.

• To reread Eduardo Chirinos

Remembering the poet who passed away 10 years ago, on August 5 at 8 p.m., the FCE brings together colleagues Jannine Montauban, Renato Cisneros, Andrea Cabel, and Jorge Wiesse to present “Celebration and Tribute to Eduardo Chirinos”.

• Fernando Ampuero, storyteller

Published by Tusquets, “Última parada” is the anthology of half a century of stories by the Lima writer and journalist. For the presentation, on July 28 at 6 p.m., he will be accompanied by writers Jeremías Gamboa and Santiago Roncagliolo.

• Oswaldo Chanove, the applause of FIL

In recognition of a literary career marked by originality and experimentation, the Arequipa author will receive the FIL Lima 2026 Award on July 26 at 4 p.m.
