Running in Lima continues to rise, and this September 27, the city joins the Bimbo Global Race, a solidarity initiative in which for every registration, the company will donate 20 slices of bread to Cáritas del Perú. With coverage in all 24 departments of Peru, Cáritas will distribute the food to soup kitchens, children’s homes, and families in poverty, turning the race into a social action of national scope.
What’s special about this race is that no one runs alone. On the same day, simultaneously, 22 countries will do exactly the same: Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Spain, and the United States, among others, will take to the streets with the same purpose and the same exclusive collector’s shirt that each registered participant will receive. This year the host city is Santiago de Chile, which will welcome the overall 10K winners from each country to compete in the 2027 edition.
In 2025, more than 4,500 Peruvians crossed the finish line and together achieved 96,000 slices donated to Cáritas del Perú. This September 27, the goal is to surpass that. Participants can choose between a 3K walk, 5K, and 10K. Registrations are open at www.bimboglobalrace.com
“The Bimbo Global Race was born with the purpose of demonstrating that sport can transform lives beyond the track. This year we want more Peruvian families to join, because each registration directly translates into food for those who need it most,” said Andrés Ferrero, General Manager of Bimbo Perú.
