U.S. citizen Mark Richard Harper arrived in the city of Cusco to request support from authorities and the population in the search for his daughter, Brittini Nicole Harper, 33 years old, whose whereabouts have been unknown for several months.

The foreigner initially went to the offices of the National Police of Peru carrying photographs of his daughter and using a translator device to communicate in Spanish with the agents and citizens.
According to his account, he lost contact with Brittini in February of this year. The woman was in Cusco doing virtual work related to oriental medicine and, according to her father’s testimony, she had no close friends in the country and was only accompanied by her husky breed dog.
Mark Richard Harper explained that his daughter arrived in Peru in May 2025 and that, two months later, she tried to travel to Colombia, but could not board the plane because her pet apparently did not have the rabies vaccination certificate.
“She had only been in the country for two months. She had to have all the paperwork and immunizations for her dog, but they did not let her board the plane because they said she needed a rabies vaccination certificate and getting that document takes three months”, he said.
After filing the complaint at the Cusco Tourism Police Station on May 21, the young woman’s father visited hospitals and other police offices looking for information about her whereabouts.
Subsequently, the case was referred to the Criminal Investigation Division (Divincri) to continue with specialized procedures.

According to Harper, during the last conversations he had with his daughter, she told him via emails that she was staying in a rented property in Urubamba, where she stayed for about two months.
The U.S. citizen also revealed that Brittini’s phone, linked to a family plan, had been used to carry out some virtual banking procedures. He also noted that part of the information in her email was apparently deleted.

Harper also admitted that he was never fully in agreement with his daughter’s trip to Peru because she traveled alone and did not know the language.
“She was nervous because she was moving to a foreign country where she didn’t know anyone. She came here alone. She didn’t speak the language”, he said.
Despite this, he highlighted the solidarity found in Cusco and asked the authorities not to stop the search.
“I ask that they do not give up. My main goal is for her to be safe and happy. I hope to see her again someday”, said the father of the missing tourist tearfully, who assured he will personally continue the search efforts.
