U.S. President, Donald Trump, denounced this Monday an alleged “sick conspiracy” against artificial intelligence (AI), following calls from industry entrepreneurs to slow down its development pace.
“There is a SICK conspiracy underway against AI and data centers, and the only one happy about it is China,” Trump said on his Truth Social platform.
Trump, who believes the United States has and must maintain leadership in the sector, particularly criticized the main promoter of this call, the head of the firm Anthropic, Dario Amodei.
“The Trump Administration has prevented the ‘people’ of AI from doing bad, or potentially bad things, like Dario (Anthropic!), who now pretends to be a ‘perfect little angel’,” Trump accused.

“The only control or containment fence AI needs is a STRONG AND SMART PRESIDENT (with a high IQ!), and the United States has one, and more than enough!” he stated.
“Conspiracy theorists, traitors, and leakers, BEWARE!” he threatened.
Anthropic CEO, Dario Amodei, defended on Saturday a coordinated slowdown of AI development to better understand the risks posed by the advanced capabilities of this technology.
He received public support from OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, xAI director Elon Musk, Google DeepMind president Demis Hassabis, and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
