Zelensky condemns Russian attacks against Zaporizhzhia with two civilians dead

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, has condemned on his social media the latest Russian air bomb attacks against the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, in which at least two people have died.

“The Russians hit an apartment building. Apartments from the first to the seventh floor are on fire,” wrote the Ukrainian president, who explained that emergency services were deployed to the area to assist the victims.

Zaporizhzhia is the capital of the eponymous region partially occupied by Russia. The city is near the front line and is constantly attacked by Russian forces.

The Ukrainian president also denounced several drone and air bomb attacks against the city of Kherson – in southern Ukraine and also the capital of another region partially occupied by the Russians – in which at least one person lost their life.

In addition, Zelensky condemned Russian missile and drone attacks that caused damage to residential areas of Odesa and injured two people.

The Ukrainian president concluded his message by asking the EU to approve its twenty-first package of sanctions against Russia.

Zelensky also urged arms manufacturers to fulfill the agreed deliveries to the Ukrainian Army with greater speed.
