The family of the 16-year-old student filed the complaint at the San Borja Police Station after the assault occurred on September 15. The incident took place inside a school bus that was transporting the futsal team back from a championship.

The National Police officers entered the educational center to intervene with the eight fifth-year high school students. The agents transferred the minors to the police station to carry out the corresponding procedures.

Two coaches present in the vehicle where the Liceo Naval events occurred

The Regional Director of Education of Metropolitan Lima (DRELM), Cornelio Gonzales, told the press on the morning of September 17 that two adults, coaches of the minors, were in the vehicle during the transfer. However, he commented that they would not have seen anything and that the news only came to light when the victim told her parents.

“There is also responsibility on the part of the educational institution for transferring kids outside the school with two people who were supposed to look after the minors, who supposedly saw nothing when they arrived at the school and got off, nothing was happening. The parent found out from the mouth of their child”, he warned upon arriving at the Family Police Station.

The official commented that the Liceo Naval would have asked the two coaches to voluntarily appear to testify before the police. Despite this, so far the Public Ministry has not collected their testimonies.
