A real estate businessman shot dead a suspected criminal and wounded his accomplice after a shooting on block 33 of Universitaria Avenue, on the border between San Martín de Porres and Los Olivos, when the victim was intercepted by two men while he was with his partner on one side of the road.
When the assailants targeted him, one of them snatched his belongings while he was parked and then tried to flee on the motorcycle with his accomplice. In response, the man used his firearm to repel the attack in front of the Autoclub commercial establishment.
As a result of the shooting, one of the attackers received a bullet to the head and died instantly at the scene. Authorities identified the deceased as Javier Daniel Richarti Guevara, whose body was guarded by officers until the body was removed by order of the prosecutor.

The accomplice tried to escape, but the PNP captured him 200 meters from the scene. Showing gunshot wounds to the arm, he was taken to the Cayetano Heredia National Hospital, where he remains hospitalized under custody while investigations into his involvement in the attempted robbery are underway.

Procedures on Universitaria Avenue
Personnel from the Sol de Oro police station cordoned off the area to collect evidence and bullet casings. Officers are reconstructing the events to evaluate the businessman’s defense, who claims to have acted to safeguard his integrity and that of his companion during the assailants’ interception.

The businessman involved in this incident reported to the National Police that he had been a victim of extortion for six months, a situation that forced him to remain constantly alert to possible criminal attacks in the area.
