WHAT IS CELEBRATED ON JULY 23 IN PERU?
This month will not only allow thousands of Peruvians to enjoy vacations or the presence of various circuses in the country but also several anticipated national holidays. Thus, according to Law No. 31822, this July 23 will be considered a non-working day for the Day of the Peruvian Air Force, commemorating the heroic sacrifice of Captain FAP José Abelardo Quiñones Gonzales during the conflict with Ecuador in 1941, as well as highlighting the importance of this institution in the security and defense of the country. Therefore, this day will be non-working and remunerated for the public and private sectors.

However, that’s not all; following the national calendar, the other two holidays will be on July 28 and 29 for the celebration of the declaration of Peru’s Independence, led by General José de San Martín in 1821, and the Civic-Military Parade. Therefore, these dates represent a great opportunity for the population, who will be able to enjoy with their families and carry out different activities alluding to the civic festivities. Consequently, it is worth noting that these holidays are not accompanied by non-working days, so there will be no long weekends or extended holidays in the country.
