Two U.S. military personnel died and a third is missing in Jordan following a ballistic missile and drone attack carried out by Iran, the United States Central Command (Centcom) reported this Saturday.

These are the first U.S. casualties recorded in the conflict since the ceasefire between Iran and the United States broke down last week.

According to the brief statement, the base was attacked with Iranian ballistic missiles and drones.
The attack also left four U.S. soldiers injured who had to be urgently evacuated to Jordanian hospitals.

Centcom specified that all of them have already recovered and been discharged.
Likewise, other personnel who were evaluated for minor injuries during the incident have returned to their regular duties.
“Out of respect for the families, Centcom will withhold any additional information, including the identities of the fallen warriors, until 24 hours after the closest relatives have been notified”, the official statement concluded.
