The Palestinian Islamist terrorist group Hamas confirmed this Friday the agreement for its disarmament and assured that it includes “the obligation” of Israel “to withdraw from the Gaza Strip”, following the announcement by the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

Hamas negotiator Ghazi Hamad stated in comments to Arab media that the agreement includes “the obligation of the occupation to withdraw from the Gaza Strip, open the border crossings and cease the killings.”

“If Israel does not comply with the agreement, we will not comply either,” concluded the Hamas official.
He added that the draft of the pact has been discussed with various Palestinian factions and emphasized that the commitment of the “resistance to the terms of the agreement depends on compliance by the Israeli occupation.”
Trump announced this Thursday that the Peace Board reached an agreement for the “total disarmament” of Hamas and other armed Palestinian groups in Gaza, a step he called “historic” towards the creation of a new government in the enclave.
The president stated on his Truth Social account that “the agreement will be carried out in carefully structured phases” and that, once disarmament is completed, “Israeli forces will withdraw” while an International Stabilization Force will work alongside a new Palestinian police force to ensure Gaza’s security.
He also noted that the issue of weapons storage will be under the supervision of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza and that Israel “will have no participation in it.”
The Republican assured that the agreement will allow Gaza to be under the control of “a new Palestinian government” and also thanked the mediation efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, as well as the work of his negotiating team to reach the pact.
Meanwhile, mediators from Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and the United States will meet in Cairo in the coming hours to finalize the agreement on the disarmament of Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip and begin the second phase of the ceasefire, according to Egyptian security sources who informed EFE.
The sources indicated that the agreement between Israel and Hamas will be finalized in the coming days, adding that the Palestinian group has accepted the agreement in its entirety but has requested guarantees from the Peace Council and the mediators to compel Israel to comply and begin the gradual withdrawal, starting with the delivery of weapons as agreed.
