Actor Johnny Depp surprised attendees at San Diego Comic-Con this Thursday with a special appearance to present his new film, “Ebenezer”, a reinterpretation of the classic character ‘Ebenezer Scrooge’ which will hit theaters next November 13.
Depp appeared at the promotional activation ‘Ebenezer’s Office’ and later presented a new trailer for the film in Hall H auditorium of the convention, produced by Paramount Pictures in association with Domain Entertainment, according to a statement from the production company.

The film is directed by Ti West, known for his work in horror cinema, and proposes a new version of the central character from “A Christmas Carol”, the work by Charles Dickens.

The studio has kept plot details under wraps, though it hints that the film will tell ‘the story you don’t know’ about ‘Ebenezer Scrooge’, the famous character marked by his greed in Dickens’ Christmas tale.
The cast includes Rupert Grint, Andrea Riseborough, Sam Claflin, Daisy Ridley and Ian McKellen, among others.

“Ebenezer” is directed by Ti West with a screenplay by Nathaniel Halpern and produced by Emma Watts.
According to authorities, it is expected that Comic-Con 2026, which began this Thursday, will attract more than 135,000 attendees during its four-day convention and that the event will generate a regional economic impact of over 160 million dollars thanks to direct and indirect visitor spending.
Comic-Con is the world’s largest comic and popular arts convention, with over 460,000 square feet (42,735 square meters) of exhibit space, over 1,000 exhibitors, and over 2,000 hours of programming, workshops, and special events celebrating comics, film, television, video games, publishing, and the arts.
