Russian Aerospace Force Tu-95MS strategic bombers carried out a patrol mission over the neutral waters of the Barents and Norwegian seas, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported this Tuesday.

“Long-range strategic bombers conducted a scheduled flight in the airspace over the neutral waters of the Barents and Norwegian seas,” the Defense Ministry said in a published statement.
During their mission that lasted about 6 hours, the Tu-95MS were escorted by Russian Navy MiG-33 fighters, the note adds.
“All flights of Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft are carried out in strict accordance with international airspace usage rules,” the Defense Ministry emphasized.
However, at some stages of the route, the Russian bombers were monitored by combat aircraft from other countries.
Russian strategic aviation, consisting of Tu-160, Tu-95MS, and Tu-22M3 bombers, regularly conducts patrol flights over the neutral waters of the Arctic, the North Atlantic, the Black and Baltic seas, the Pacific Ocean, and others.
These flights have not been interrupted by the war in Ukraine.
