SBS submits public consultation on the advance guidelines for implementing the Open Finance System in Peru

The Superintendence of Banking, Insurance and AFP (SBS) published the document “Guidelines for the Operation of the Open Finance System in Peru,” as part of Phase 2 of the Roadmap for the implementation of this system, and based on the results of the diagnosis and discussions held with various stakeholders.

This document presents a preview of the structure, governance, standards, and operating conditions of the future Open Finance System (SFA) in the country. It also proposes a model that will allow the secure and standardized exchange of user data, under their consent and the supervision of the SBS.

Likewise, it develops the main components of the SFA, including participation rules, the trust framework, interoperability standards, and the mechanisms that will allow its progressive implementation.

Among the defined aspects are the adoption of international security standards for APIs, the development of a Peru FAPI Profile (specifications aimed at strengthening data protection), the creation of a common infrastructure for participants, and their gradual incorporation.

Likewise, the SBS proposes that the initial implementation prioritize the exchange of transactional information of savings accounts and credit cards. These guidelines were put up for public consultation. It should be noted that entities, guilds, specialists, and interested citizens may submit their comments and contributions until August 7.
