Traveling outside of Peru can become an easier experience than many imagine, especially when the chosen destination allows entry for Peruvian citizens without the need to previously obtain a visa. These benefits are due to international agreements, bilateral treaties, or decisions made by the countries themselves. In this regard, it is essential to know the entry, stay, and documentation requirements that each destination may request before departing. Therefore, before purchasing tickets or defining an itinerary, it is advisable to review the current immigration conditions. Below, we tell you which destinations you can visit simply with a Peruvian passport and what you should consider before embarking on your next trip abroad.

HOW LONG CAN YOU STAY AS A TOURIST IN THE MENTIONED COUNTRIES?
The authorized duration is not the same in all destinations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicates that, in general terms, tourist stays without a visa can last up to 90 days, but each country establishes its own conditions and deadlines. In Europe, for example, the exemption for short stays allows up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

DO VENEZUELA AND MEXICO REQUIRE A VISA FOR PERUVIANS?
Venezuela currently requires Peruvian citizens to process a visa beforehand to enter, so it should no longer be considered a visa-free destination. Mexico also requires a visa for Peruvians who wish to enter as visitors, although there are certain immigration facilities for those who meet specific conditions, such as holding valid visas from certain countries.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IF YOUR DESTINATION REQUIRES A VISA?
If the chosen country requests this document, you must consult directly with its embassy or consulate in Peru to know the requirements and carry out the corresponding procedure. Also, if the purpose of the trip is to study or work, the tourist exemption does not necessarily apply, and you should verify the specific immigration regulations of the destination, as explained by the América TV platform.

We recommend printing the appointment confirmation or taking a screenshot with your phone to speed up the service when you go to the Migration office; also present your Sworn Declaration in case of loss or theft of the passport.
3) Attend your appointment
On the day of your appointment, go to the office you selected bringing your DNI and payment receipt. Show the appointment confirmation or screenshot to be attended faster.
The electronic passport procedure is in person. Although a third party can make the payment or get the appointment for a relative or friend, the holder must attend the appointment personally where we will confirm their identity and take a photo for the passport.
4) Have your photo taken
When you attend your appointment, we will take your photo for the passport. This photo is taken according to international biometric identification standards, so you must consider these conditions:
- Do not wear glasses or large frames or lenses that prevent seeing the eyes.
- Do not wear colored cosmetic contact lenses.
- Do not wear head coverings, hats, bangs, or hair covering the face.
- Do not wear facial piercings.
5) Pick up your electronic passport
The passport is delivered on the same day of the appointment after meeting all the requirements.
If for any reason you cannot pick up your passport, you have 60 days to do so at the office where you processed it. If the electronic passport is not picked up within that period, it will be destroyed, and you will have to apply for a new one.
Important:
If you were unable to get an appointment and need the passport urgently, you can request special passport issuance service.
