For this year and 2027, Volkswagen plans to maintain double-digit growth in Latin America. In this regard, the brand estimates an approximate 15% increase in its sales by the end of 2026, says Juan Felipe Bedoya, Executive Director of Sales, After-sales and Marketing for Volkswagen in Latin America, to Día 1.
This means registering close to 50,000 units sold in the region, a figure higher than the more than 38,000 vehicles sold in 2025.

Additionally, he specifies that South America in the first half of this year had a 10.6% growth in its sales, being the region with the highest increase for the brand worldwide.
This contrasts with the global sales of the Volkswagen Group, which reported a 6.3% decline in the same period.
“The entire automotive industry is undergoing significant changes and a reshuffling of players, but in this challenging context Volkswagen South America has stood out within the group. There is a magnificent performance in Brazil and Argentina,” comments Bedoya.
Precisely, the executive indicates that Brazil has positioned itself as the third most important market for the German brand worldwide, behind China and Germany.
In this regard, he recalled that an investment of US$3.2 billion was announced for South America. This includes the launch of 21 new models in the future: 17 of them for South America and four additional exclusive for Latin America.

Each of these models will include an electrified version by 2027, he adds.
“In the Volkswagen Group’s current situation, the focus is on Latin America,” he states.

Among the regional launches are the new versions of the ‘pick up’ Tukan and Amarok.
In this regard, Bedoya indicates that the new version of the Amarok will be launched in 2027 in Peru, and by October 2026 a special version of this ‘pick up’ will be presented.
In line with growth in the region, Volkswagen projects a 20% increase in local sales in 2027, he points out.

The executive also states that Peru is an important country in Latin America, because the national automotive market shows double-digit growth.
Thus, according to the Automotive Association of Peru (AAP), in the first half there was a growth of more than 40% in the sale of new light vehicles.
“The Peruvian market is very close to the Colombian one, although a bit further from the Chilean. We have a participation slightly below 2% [in Peru], and that gives us opportunities to keep growing,” says Bedoya.
In this regard, the executive comments that they seek to take advantage of opportunities in the country in the SUV and ‘pick up’ segment.
