The Minister of Energy and Mines, Guillermo Shinno, led a working table with officials from the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem), the Supervisory Body for Investment in Energy and Mining (Osinergmin), Petro-Perú, local and regional authorities, senators, deputies, to evaluate the fuel situation in Ucayali and agree on concrete measures to address the situation and protect the families of the region.

Participating in the working table were the chairman of the board of Petro-Perú, Oliver Stark; the chairman of the Osinergmin Board of Directors, Omar Chambergo; the regional governor of Ucayali, Manuel Gambini; Senator Jorge Velásquez; and deputies Jaime Abensur and Jessica Navas, and the provincial mayor of Coronel Portillo, Janet Castagne.
During the meeting, the minister reported that, according to what Petro-Perú has reported, there is fuel available in Ucayali, so supply is guaranteed. However, he acknowledged that prices have been affected by international factors and other market elements. In this context, he explained that the sector is coordinating with the Executive to promote measures to strengthen transparency and contribute to timely attention to the situation in Ucayali.
As part of these actions, Minister Shinno announced that Minem will coordinate with the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) the delivery of a short-term subsidy to alleviate the impact of prices in the jungle. Likewise, he indicated that the fuel price structure in the region will be analyzed, with the aim of making costs and the different agents involved in the marketing chain transparent.

On the other hand, with the aim of strengthening hydrocarbon storage capacity and increasing the available stock in the region, the use of private tanks will be coordinated and actions will be promoted to put MAPLE infrastructure into operation. Along these lines, regulatory measures will be promoted to speed up these processes and allow timely attention to regional demand.
Osinergmin, for its part, will strengthen price supervision at retail establishments to guarantee greater transparency according to its Osinergmin Order Control System (SCOP).
